Job Summary:

The Director of Electrical Engineering will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and performance of the electrical engineering group. The Director of Electrical Engineering should inspire confidence in our clients and foster a positive working environment.

In this role, you will:
  • Coordinate the production efforts with team members to ensure electrical engineering services are maintained at a maximum efficiency
  • Develop goals, policies, and practices to actively manage the electrical engineering group
  • Review the work of team members to ensure design excellence and ensure project performance
  • Establish and foster successful relationships with clients, sub-consultants, and general contractors
  • Resolve operational issues and keep executive management informed on the status of work
  • Be responsible for project management and design oversight on select projects
  • Assist in business development efforts

You will be a great fit if:
  • You have a minimum of 15 years of experience, including 5 years of management experience
  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • You are a Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
  • You have a proven track record of operational management, project performance, project profitability, and employee development

Skills/abilities:
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, other departments, and sometimes external partners
  • Strong decision-making skills and the effective ability to manage team members
  • A complete knowledge of electrical design, preferably in laboratories, healthcare, and federal projects
  • Strong leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and guide a team, resolve conflicts, and make informed decisions
  • Being able to foster collaboration and teamwork is essential

Location: Bethesda, MD

Salary: $165,000-$185,000
