Salary Range: $130,000 $160,000 annually

Position Overview

We are seeking a Lead Python Developer to drive development efforts for our client s cutting-edge data intelligence platform. This direct hire position is based in Plano, TX, with a hybrid work arrangement, and offers the opportunity to take a leadership role in delivering robust backend and frontend systems using Django, Vue.js, and SQL on Microsoft Azure.

As the technical lead, you will define architecture, mentor team members, and work cross-functionally to deliver scalable, high-performance software solutions that support critical business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of backend services using Python, Django, and Django REST Framework

• Oversee the development of intuitive, responsive frontends using Vue.js and modern JavaScript (ES6+)

• Design and manage efficient SQL queries and relational data models on Azure-hosted databases

• Partner with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure scalable, secure cloud deployments on Microsoft Azure

• Translate business and product requirements into well-scoped, actionable technical tasks

• Drive architectural reviews, system design discussions, and enforce engineering best practices

• Mentor junior and mid-level developers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing

• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives

• Collaborate with data platform and analytics teams to provide product feedback and shape future capabilities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• 5+ years of professional software development experience

• 3+ years of experience with Django or similar Python web frameworks

• 2+ years of experience with Vue.js or similar frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Angular)

• Strong SQL expertise with experience in schema design and query optimization

• Practical experience deploying and maintaining applications in Microsoft Azure

• Proficiency in Git, CI/CD, unit testing, and secure coding practices

• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and mentor engineering team members

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Docker or similar containerization technologies

• Familiarity with DevOps tooling and infrastructure-as-code

• Experience working with Lloyd s of London bordereaux data, particularly involving ingestion, transformation, and validation of complex insurance data sets
