RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Salt Lake City, UT that is seeking a F5 Systems Engineer.

Position Overview:
Our partner, a leading financial institution, is transforming its IT infrastructure to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performing services to clients and employees. As part of their Network Operations Services team, we are seeking an experienced F5 Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain highly available application solutions across multiple data centers. This role offers the opportunity to lead the organization's transition from traditional on-premises operations to a hybrid-cloud environment while modernizing their F5 platform and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
* Operate, maintain, and optimize F5 platform equipment, including patching/BIG-IP TMOS version management, vulnerability remediation, bug fixes, performance evaluation, and lifecycle strategy
* Provide technical solutions to internal stakeholders, including Virtual IP setup, load balancing, decommissioning, troubleshooting, and fulfillment of ServiceNow catalog tasks
* Participate in planning sessions with IT Infrastructure teams to support migrations, projects, and infrastructure changes while minimizing business disruptions
* Define and implement IT controls, KPIs/KRIs, and IT asset management practices in the perimeter security space
* Lead F5 platform modernization efforts, including coding, automation, and infrastructure as code initiatives

Typical Day:
* Review and triage ticket queue; analyze requests to determine virtual server deployment and configuration
* Create and implement virtual servers, troubleshoot issues, and resolve ServiceNow tickets
* Collaborate with other engineers to maintain LTM, ITM, and APM systems; support VPN troubleshooting
* Work with pipelines within Azure DevOps to streamline automation and deployment

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
* 4+ years of network engineering experience with a focus on F5 technologies
* Hands-on experience with F5 products: Local Traffic Manager (LTM), Access Policy Manager (APM), Application Security Manager (ASM), Global Traffic Manager (GTM)
* Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL/TLS) and routing protocols (BGP)
* Knowledge of datacenter operations, firewall administration, DNS/DHCP/IPAM management, and ServiceNow platform
* Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills under pressure
* Strong communication, collaboration, and customer service skills
* Automation proficiency (Python, Ansible, Azure DevOps pipelines) is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:
* Industry certifications such as Network+, F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator, or F5 Certified Technology Specialist
* Experience leading infrastructure modernization initiatives

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
