Job Description

Amentum seeks an Intern who is interested in gaining practical skills and industry knowledge through tasks and/or projects related to their area of study or career interests. Specifically, the Finance Department is seeking a Financial/Budget Analyst 1 to provide financial support to a collection of Amentum contracts. During the 10 week internship, you will learn project cost accounting requirements used to manage large and complex federal contracts, pooling and allocation of indirect expenses, and general business operational support.

The future is uncertain. And that's where we come in. Analyzing data. Anticipating what's possible. We're here to solve what's next and get ahead of the toughest challenges we face. As a Financial/Budget Analyst 1 Intern, your responsibilities may include:

  • Preparing and maintaining expenditure spreadsheets for use in the preparation of spending plan budgets, forecasts and cost analyses, and internal and external customer reports.
  • Preparing actual cost incurred reports on a regularly scheduled basis.
  • Performing forecasting of future expenditures using trend analysis.
  • Preparing procurement requests, processing subcontractor invoices and monitoring subcontractor cost reports for accuracy and completeness.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled and in pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in Business Administration/Finance or other related field from an accredited college/university. Preference will be given to Juniors and Seniors.
  • Possess organizational skills.
  • Must perform detail-oriented work .
  • Have a Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Must complete and have a favorable result on a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Desired Skills & Expertise

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI.
  • Ability to work individually or in a collaborative team environment.
