Mandatory Qualifications:
1. Seven (7) years of broad, extensive and increasingly responsible experience applying PM principles, methods, techniques, and tools. At least four (4) years of that experience must have been as a senior PM of one or more large or
complex IT projects.
2. Possession of (a) a bachelor’s degree, and (b) a valid Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Desirable Qualifications:
3. Experience centralizing project management services to strategically manage project changes, risks, and issues for the portfolio of projects in collaboration with executives.
4. Experience advancing project management discipline within project teams, defining the processes, procedures, and best practices for consistent project success throughout the organization.
5. Experience helping an Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) build and mature their project portfolio management methodology and framework including, portfolio prioritization, project alignment across all programs, and
portfolio-level risk management ensuring executives understand the impacts on the entire department.
6. Experience working with the California Department of Technology’s Project Approval Lifecycle (PAL) process.
7. Experience working on IT or non-IT projects for the state that are federally funded.
