Job Description:

Looking for an experienced Senior Automation Test Lead with strong Java development background to lead and manage the QA Automation team. This role requires hands-on expertise in automation testing, Java development, and framework design, along with the ability to handle overall team ownership rather than working as an individual contributor.

The ideal candidate should be capable of answering development-focused interview questions, driving automation migration initiatives, and designing automation frameworks from scratch while mentoring team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Automation Testing team and oversee end-to-end QA activities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks from scratch

  • Drive automation migration from legacy/manual processes to modern frameworks

  • Act as a technical evaluator and support development-oriented discussions

  • Collaborate with development, product, and business teams

  • Review automation scripts, test strategies, and best practices

  • Ensure quality standards, test coverage, and delivery timelines are met

  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and leadership to team members

  • Participate in architecture and design discussions from a QA perspective

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in Software Testing & QA

  • Strong expertise in Automation Testing (Selenium or similar tools)

  • Solid Java development experience (Core Java, OOPs, Test Frameworks)

  • Experience in framework design and development from scratch

  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, TestNG, JUnit)

  • Exposure to API automation and performance testing tools

  • Prior experience working with large onsite/offshore teams

  • Experience in enterprise-level automation transformation projects
