We are looking for an DevOps Engineer for our client in Milpitas, CA
Job Title: DevOps Engineer
Job Location: Milpitas, CA
Job Type: Contract
Job Description:
Pay Range: $65hr - $70hr

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform (custom providers, state management, complex modules).
  • Build and manage machine images using Packer.
  • Provision and maintain environments across dev, staging, and production.
  • Deploy and manage AWS resources (VPC, IAM, EC2, S3, RDS, Security Groups, Prefix Lists, etc.).
  • Manage containerized workloads using Kubernetes (EKS) and Helm charts.
  • Configure and optimize Nginx ingress controllers, load balancers, and networking.
  • Support hybrid workloads on Linux systems (Debian, Ubuntu, Amazon Linux, CentOS).
  • Implement and optimize Jenkins pipelines with dynamic JNLP agents.
  • Manage GitHub Enterprise workflows with SAML authentication and automation.
  • Develop and maintain deployment scripts using Bash and Python.
  • Set up and maintain logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions using ELK stack and Filebeat.
  • Apply SRE principles including incident management and root cause analysis.
  • Implement security best practices for AWS, Kubernetes, and networking.
  • Manage IAM roles, policies, and secrets securely.
  • Collaborate with application teams to support deployments and troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and CI/CD issues.
  • Maintain documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • Advanced knowledge of Terraform Enterprise, GitHub Enterprise Server, HashiCorp Vault, Jenkins, and JFrog Artifactory.
  • Strong expertise in AWS core services, networking, IAM, and EKS.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline scripting and GitHub workflows.
  • Proficiency in Linux administration and scripting (Bash, Python).
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals including VPCs, Security Groups, Prefix Lists, and load balancers.
  • Experience with monitoring, observability tools, and incident response.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience scaling Kubernetes clusters and managing Nginx ingress traffic.
  • Familiarity with multi-environment deployments and parallel automation scripts.
  • Understanding of AWS service quotas, resource optimization, and networking nuances.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Qualification and Education:
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
