Position: Field Service Technician I

Location: 100% on-site in Gilbert, AZ (some remote work from home doing training and admin tasks, but primarily field technician work being dispatched to customer sites.)

Estimated Duration: The client approximates that this project will be a 6 month contract to hire. However, there is no guarantee of employment for any length of time.

Pay Rate Range: $18-20/hr. +mileage reimbursement (Apex Systems offers weekly pay)

Day to Day Responsibilities/typical day looks like:
  • Travel to client locations to install, maintain, and repair IT systems, including servers, networks, and peripheral devices. Providing general IT support to multiple customers (retailers, banks, etc.), running break-fix and IMAC calls, and supporting clients, the level of support will vary depending on the customer, but do expect printer, laptop, server, network, and other technology devices.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues on-site.
  • Provide technical support and training to clients on the use of IT systems.
  • Perform network setup and configuration, ensuring full connectivity of desktop and other networked peripherals.
  • Maintain detailed records of service requests, work performed, and client interactions.
  • Collaborate with other IT professionals to resolve complex issues and improve service delivery.

Requirements:
  • 2+
  • Top 2 skills: Hardware repair hands-on (printers, PCs, POS, etc.), break fix, use of power tools (e.g,. drills,) and familiar with ticketing systems.
  • This role requires extensive driving, efficient routing, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing schedules
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Works well both independently and as part of a team.
  • The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, and maintain composure under pressure
  • A+ certification is a plus
