We are seeking a seasoned and driven Security Architect to lead the design and implementation of secure systems for connected products and smart solutions. As the subject matter expert, you will ensure the security of smart devices, applications, and supporting infrastructure by designing robust architectures, identifying and mitigating risks, and maintaining a security-first mindset throughout the product development lifecycle.

You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to embed security into every phase of product and service delivery-from initial design through deployment-while ensuring compliance with security standards and responding effectively to emerging threats.

Key Responsibilities

Secure Design & Architecture

• Lead the secure development of smart devices, connected applications, and cloud-based services
• Implement security controls across the product lifecycle, adhering to industry standards and compliance requirements

Cloud Security

• Evaluate and strengthen the security posture of cloud services (primarily Azure, but also Google Cloud Platform or AWS)
• Secure communication and API interactions between backend systems and connected devices

Risk Management

• Perform comprehensive security assessments, document findings in a risk register, and prioritize mitigations
• Continuously monitor systems and update risk assessments based on evolving threats

Customer & Sales Support

• Partner with sales and marketing to address customer security inquiries
• Create clear, customer-facing security documentation and collateral

DevSecOps & Continuous Improvement

• Work closely with DevOps to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines
• Drive proactive security measures and implement improvements in response to new threats and vulnerabilities

Threat Modeling

• Conduct architecture-level threat modeling using tools like Microsoft Threat Modeling Tool, OWASP Threat Dragon, and Threat Modeler
• Apply threat modeling methodologies such as STRIDE and DREAD to detect and address risks early in the development cycle

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent professional experience

Experience:

• 5+ years in cybersecurity architecture with strong knowledge of security best practices
• 8+ years in IT or networking, with experience designing and securing connected systems
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure (preferred), AWS, or Google Cloud Platform
• Proven expertise in securing IoT ecosystems, including devices, mobile apps, edge gateways, and radio communication systems

Technical Skills:

• Deep understanding of vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies (e.g., privilege escalation, SQL injection, buffer overflows)
• Strong foundation in application and web security, cloud security, and networking protocols
• Experience conducting secure architecture reviews
• Familiarity with software development and security testing processes is a plus

Certifications:

• Industry-recognized certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent are highly desirable

Communication & Documentation:

• Ability to produce actionable and clear security documentation
• Strong presentation and communication skills for engaging stakeholders and delivering training sessions

Risk Management:

• Experience maintaining risk registers and conducting thorough security reviews with actionable recommendations
