Job Description
Job Title: Cyber Security Administrator
Department: Information Technology
Reports To: Network Manager
Summary: We are seeking a skilled Cyber Security Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will a
have a strong understanding of network systems and be responsible for developing, implementing,
and maintaining our organization's cyber security policies. This role involves testing and
documenting security measures to ensure the protection of our digital assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement cyber security policies and procedures.
Conduct regular security testing and vulnerability assessments.
Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and potential threats.
Monitor security systems and longs for security events.
Investigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and develop and implement corrective actions.
Document security incidents and responses.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards, such as HIPPA, PCI DSS, or GDPR, as applicable.
Collaborate with the network team to ensure secure network architecture.
Stay updated on the latest cyber security trends and threats.
Provide training and support to staff on cyber security best practices.
Design, install, configure, and maintain network equipment including switches, routers, servers, Blades, firewalls, wireless access points, wireless dashboard, and bridges to support the district local and wide area networks.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience in network administration and cyber security.
Experience with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing methodologies.
Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills:
Proficiency in network security tools and technologies.
Experience with scripting languages for automation.
Ability to identify and mitigate security risks.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Certifications:
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
Starting Salary - $35.00 hourly or higher commensurate with equivalent work experience
