Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Product Owner Master Data Management (MDM) professional to join our team in a hybrid capacity (local to Jersey City or NYC). The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in insurance or reinsurance, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering data-driven solutions that align with business goals.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a key liaison between business and technical teams to deliver effective MDM and data governance solutions.
- Collaborate with actuarial, pricing, and reserving teams to support data-driven decisions.
- Build and maintain strong business partnerships and communicate effectively with senior leadership.
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, promoting collaboration and a positive working environment.
- Conduct user research, stakeholder interviews, and manage trade-offs in scope and timelines.
- Drive data strategy initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Manage multiple priorities, delegate effectively, and lead through ambiguity and change.
Requirements
- 9+ years of relevant work experience, with 5+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or Data-Centric Role, preferably within the insurance industry.
- 8+ years of experience in Master Data Management, Data Quality, Data Governance, and Analytics.
- Strong understanding of insurance/reinsurance operations, especially actuarial pricing and reserving practices.
- Proficient with MDM platforms (Informatica preferred) and familiar with data governance tools.
- Experienced with ETL/ELT, data warehouses, cloud-based analytics platforms (AWS, Databricks, Azure), and reporting tools such as Power BI and Cognos.
- Strong project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor s or advanced degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Data & Analytics, or related field.
- Agile Product Owner certification highly preferred.
