Infrastructure Engineer
W2 Contract
5 days on site Night Shift: (3:00 PM–1:30 AM EST) Sunday–Wednesday
Sandston, VA

Job Summary:
The Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for supporting and maintaining data center physical infrastructure, including servers, cabling, and networking equipment. This role involves coordinating with vendors, performing full cabinet deployments, and ensuring adherence to standards to support enterprise data center operations.


Responsibilities:
• Coordinate with vendors/suppliers (QTS, Digital Realty, Data Bank) for power, cabling, and procurement of copper and fiber
• Perform full cabinet deployments, including installation, maintenance, and support of structured cabling, servers, and networking hardware
• Remove decommissioned assets and perform cable cleanup
• Maintain inventory and update asset management database
• Adhere to cabling and labeling standards

Core Skills (Must-Haves):
• Structured cabling and fiber optic technologies
• Installation, removal, and maintenance of servers and networking equipment
• Layer 1 hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Data center rack power and connectivity knowledge
• Physical lifting and movement of approximately 50 lbs
• Operational support of enterprise data centers

Foundational Skills (Expected):
• Use of ticketing systems (Jira, ServiceNow)
• Data center infrastructure management (DCIM, CMDB)
• Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Bonus Skills (Nice-to-Haves):
• Experience with data center design and engineering
 • Knowledge of data center support practices and standards
