Job Title: SAP BO to Power BI Migration Expert
Location: Remote
Duration: 12+ Months Contract
About the Role
Client is looking for a seasoned SAP BO to Power BI Migration Expert to lead the modernization of its business intelligence landscape. With SAP BW serving as the backend, the consultant will architect and execute end-to-end migration strategies, ensuring seamless transition of reporting capabilities while enhancing data accessibility and visualization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the migration of complex SAP BusinessObjects (BO) reports and dashboards to Microsoft Power BI
Analyze and translate SAP BW-backed data models for effective reporting in Power BI
Develop optimized ETL pipelines and semantic models to support high-performance BI solutions
Collaborate with stakeholders to refine reporting requirements and align visualizations with strategic goals
Provide hands-on development of Power BI dashboards, datasets, and dataflows
Ensure governance, data integrity, and adherence to reporting standards throughout the migration
Deliver documentation and facilitate training to support long-term sustainability
Required Skills & Experience
6 7 years of experience in business intelligence and analytics with a focus on migration projects
Strong expertise in SAP BusinessObjects (Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, Universe Design)
Proven experience with Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling techniques
Solid understanding of SAP BW architecture, Info Providers, and data extraction methodologies
Familiarity with enterprise data warehousing principles and performance optimization
Ability to work in hybrid and multicultural environments with strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in public sector or financial institutions
Exposure to Azure Data Services or SAP BTP a plus
Ability to lead workshops, perform gap analysis, and offer strategic migration guidance
