6+ years overall DBA experience, with at least 3 years in AWS and 2+ years in Amazon Redshift (Traditional or Serverless)

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator with deep expertise in Amazon Redshift and the AWS ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in database performance tuning, data pipeline troubleshooting, and AWS infrastructure management. This role involves managing, optimizing, and scaling Redshift environments while ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain Amazon Redshift clusters (traditional or serverless)
Perform Redshift backup, snapshot recovery, and disaster recovery planning
Optimize queries and monitor workload using WLM and query monitoring tools
Design and manage Redshift schemas, tables, and data distribution strategies
Troubleshoot and optimize ETL/ELT processes and data ingestion workflows
Automate DBA tasks using Python
Manage user access, roles, permissions, and ensure security best practices
Integrate with Amazon S3, Redshift Spectrum, and Athena
Implement Redshift maintenance tasks: vacuuming, analyzing tables, etc.
Utilize CloudWatch for performance monitoring and alerting
Support data governance and compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA)
Contribute to AWS account design, Redshift serverless architecture, and cross-region disaster recovery strategies

Required Skills:
Minimum 2 years hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift
Minimum 3 years of experience with AWS services
Strong understanding of Redshift performance tuning, cluster scaling, and security configuration
Experience with AWS Glue, Lambda, and Apache Airflow
Knowledge of data lake integration, IAM roles, VPC settings
Familiarity with data retention policies, partition management, and compliance requirements

Preferred Qualifications:
AWS certification(s) (e.g., AWS Certified Database Specialty, Solutions Architect)
Experience working in regulated environments with GDPR/HIPAA compliance
Experience in fast-paced cloud-native or data-driven environments
