JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE
We are seeking a Cloud Engineering Lead to own the Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) portfolio, while leading enterprise monitoring and automation initiatives. This role manages key vendor relationships, ensures strong availability, robust security, and predictable costs, and blends strategic planning with hands-on engineering work.
You will work directly in the environment using tools like PowerShell, APIs, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to deliver solutions, while also driving the adoption of generative AI to automate tasks, improve efficiency, and innovate operational workflows.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Cloud Strategy & Governance

Define multi-year cloud roadmaps in collaboration with Enterprise Architecture.

Approve reference architectures, IaC patterns, and hardening baselines.

Govern OS and platform lifecycles, including patching, image hardening, and end-of-life migrations.
Operations & Reliability

Own availability, capacity, and performance management for all cloud workloads.

Maintain and test disaster recovery plans, document RTO/RPO compliance, and lead quarterly failover exercises.

Serve as L3 escalation for critical incidents and chair post-incident reviews.
Monitoring & Automation

Deploy and optimize the enterprise monitoring platform with AIOps integration to reduce MTTR.

Publish monthly reliability scorecards.

Develop automation workflows using no-code tools, IaC, PowerShell, and APIs.
AI & Innovation
-
Champion company-wide AI adoption, using large language models and generative AI for operational automation.
Vendor & Cost Management

Act as the primary contact for Microsoft, Oracle, and Accenture cloud MSPs.

Negotiate contracts, manage renewals, and track SLA compliance.

Conduct cost optimization reviews and produce charge-back or show-back reports.
Leadership
-
Mentor team members and lead change management for major cutovers, environment builds, or mergers.

Coordinate changes with Service Management and CAB processes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

In lieu of degree: 4 additional years in enterprise architecture plus the required experience below.
Experience
-
8+ years in cloud engineering.
-
3+ years in team leadership or managing large-scale programs.

Proven vendor management and cloud FinOps expertise.
Skills & Knowledge

Azure and/or OCI architecture, IaC, CI/CD, Windows and Linux, networking, DR, and performance tuning.

Strong PowerShell, IaC, and API development skills.

Contract negotiation, cost analytics, incident leadership, and executive communication.
