Job Details

Title: AS/400 Programmer OR VAX Programmer OR HP Programmer
Location: Irving, TX or Minneapolis, MN or Chicago, IL

The individual in this role will split their time equally between development of new functionality to support ICS testing environments and providing production support for jobs running in IT, UAT, and AAE environments.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain business applications using RPG III, RPG400, COBOL, SYNON, or C in an AS/400 (IBM iSeries) or similar midrange environment (e.g., DEC VAX or HP3000).
Perform full software development life cycle (SDLC) activities, with a focus on high-volume, large-scale batch and online processing applications.
Support and troubleshoot existing systems to ensure smooth operation across multiple environments.
Modify and enhance legacy applications to meet evolving business requirements.
Collaborate with testing teams to support integration and system testing (ICS environments).
Ensure timely resolution of production issues and provide on-call support as needed.

Required Experience and Skills:
Strong expertise in RPG III, RPG400, COBOL, SYNON, or C.
Proven experience in AS/400 programming or midrange systems such as VAX or HP3000.
Experience supporting production systems and performing root cause analysis of job failures.
Familiarity with change management, version control, and deployment processes in legacy systems.
Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
