Job Description

Strategic and technically adept Data Governance Lead who will spearhead enterprise-wide AI and data governance initiatives. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing governance frameworks that ensure responsible, secure, and compliant use of AI and data assets across the organization. The ideal candidate will bridge data governance, AI risk management, and regulatory compliance to drive ethical and effective AI adoption.

Key Responsibilities

AI & Data Governance Strategy

• Develop and execute a comprehensive AI and data governance roadmap aligned with enterprise risk, compliance, and digital transformation goals.
• Integrate AI governance into existing data governance, IT GRC, and model risk management frameworks.

Policy Development & Oversight

• Establish and maintain governance policies for AI model lifecycle, data lineage, and sensitive data classification.
• Ensure adherence to NIST AI RMF, OWASP LLM guidelines, and internal security standards.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Lead cross-functional working groups including Information Security, Legal, Compliance, and Model Risk Management.
• Serve as the primary liaison for AI governance with internal audit, third-party risk, and regulatory bodies.

Operational Governance

• Oversee AI model inventory, lineage tracking, and runtime monitoring for misuse or anomalies.
• Implement governance checkpoints from ideation to deployment, including POC, pilot, and production stages.

Training & Culture

• Drive enterprise-wide training and awareness programs to promote responsible AI use.
• Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and ethical innovation.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data governance, IT risk, or compliance, with 3+ years in AI/ML governance or emerging tech oversight.
• Deep understanding of AI/ML technologies, data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and model risk practices.
• Proven leadership in cross-functional environments and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, communication, and policy development skills.

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with AI governance tools and platforms (e.g., Cortex Cloud, Onyx, OWASP/NIST-aligned systems).
• Experience with enterprise data platforms, cloud governance, and role-based access control (RBAC).
• Prior involvement in AI governance working groups or regulatory audits.
