Job Description:

The role will focus on Payment BU Workflow Intelligence and Optimization initiatives using Appian, collaborating with Cotiviti architects to modernize client inquiry and payment processes.

The architect will also contribute to building a Center of Excellence (CoE) for low-code development, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions across business units.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and architect scalable Appian-based workflow and automation solutions.

  • Define architectural standards, design patterns, and governance for Appian implementations.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Appian workflows with enterprise systems.

  • Support CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and automated testing frameworks.

  • Provide mentorship, perform code reviews, and ensure adherence to best practices.

  • Evaluate opportunities for modernization and integration with complementary platforms (e.g., JBPM, Camunda).

  • Contribute to long-term technology roadmaps and architecture strategies.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of application architecture experience.

  • 3+ years of hands-on Appian architecture and development experience.

  • Strong knowledge of Appian Expression Language (AEL), UX design, REST APIs, and integration.

  • Expertise in workflow orchestration, data modeling, and caching strategies.

  • Experience with Appian plugins, RPA, Data Fabric, and DevOps toolchains.

  • Familiarity with Agile/SAFe methodology and excellent communication skills.


Preferred:

  • Appian Senior Developer Certification or higher.

  • Experience in Healthcare IT or payer systems.

  • Proven record of establishing or contributing to an Appian Center of Excellence (CoE).

  • Understanding of business architecture and low-code advocacy within enterprises.
