About the Role
As a RF Systems Engineer within LM Space, you will perform the following:
Interface with Cooperative Research and Development (CRAD) customer base to demonstrate wideband ESA product as part of a proposed NC3 architecture that meets CRAD objectives
Direct junior RF engineers to perform needed link analysis and RF engineering tasks needed to ensure successful delivery and integration of wideband ESA product
Provide technical advice and assistance to the CRAD execution in RF-related areas such as Federal Communications Commission (FCC) licenses and site-specific noise filtering
Transition IRAD products into CRAD and, eventually, System of Record solutions for the NC3 customer
Lead a cross-BA team of senior RF engineers and consultants in a Digital Summit forum to collaborate on technical solutions that are applicable to RF technologies across missions

Basic Qualifications

Skill Requirements:
Direct involvement in the design, development, or fielding of ground communication terminals supporting multi-band, multi-network operations.
Practical experience with integration or test of Electronically Steered Array (ESA) systems as part of a larger communications architecture.
Demonstrated subject matter expertise leading the design, integration, or technical oversight of communications subsystems or components (e.g., antennas, radios, modems, control microelectronics) as a systems or component-level engineering authority (e.g., RSE, CPE, or equivalent).

Security Clearance / Work Authorization:
To meet requirements of the program/customer, this position requires the selected applicant to ====
Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required for consideration
Top Secret security clearance with adjudicated SCI (i.e. TS/SCI) is required prior to start

Desired skills

Familiarity with the Nuclear Command and Control (NC3) Mission and Enterprise
Understanding of High Altitude Nuclear Event (HANE) effects on communications
Experience with digital beamforming technologies
Understanding of air, space, ground mobile, and ground fixed communications assets
Experience integrating developed and procured hardware to create a communication system
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Experience explaining complex technical topics to non-technical internal and external stakeholders
Experience interacting with customers in formal or informal situations
Experience delivering products from an Independent Research and Development activity
Experience leading technical teams to build RF ground communications prototypes

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $139,600 - $246,100. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
