Are you interested in collaborating to solve complex business challenges? If so, join us as an Internal Audit Engineering Program Manager. In this role, you will build and manage a focused audit program for Microsoft's engineering teams, working with leaders to address business risks and drive improvements.

You'll analyze risk trends, monitor industry and regulatory changes, and develop the annual audit plan based on critical risks. Effective communication with senior leadership and delivering clear audit reports are key responsibilities. Your insights will help guide management and assure executive leadership that significant risks are managed effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Continuously assess the organization's risk landscape and emerging industry trends to build the annual audit plan focused on key risk areas and in compliance with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) standards.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clarify risks to their business and where there may be potential blind spots.
  • Provide oversight and guidance during audit execution, ensuring the audit team's fieldwork focuses on the critical risks and that testing is thorough and effective. Mentor audit team members to build their business acumen and risk management skills, providing feedback and guidance that help them grow.
  • Ensure clear and concise audit reporting of risks tested during the audit for senior leadership and the Board. Analyze and advise management on whether their planned actions will mitigate identified risks.
  • Leverage internal partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals and increase business acumen.
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative team culture and champion Microsoft's values of integrity and accountability
  • Stay current on industry best practices, technology advancements, and professional standards in auditing3. Raise the technical and risk knowledge of yourself and the team through ongoing training and development.
  • Continuously seek ways to innovate audit processes (e.g. through data analytics or automation) to increase efficiency and insight.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
  • Proven program management skills, with a record of effectively managing an audit or compliance program in a decentralized, empowered, and constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to communicate highly technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences during audit program development and report delivery.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in drafting advisory memorandums of findings, conclusions, and recommendations for management action plans.
  • 3+ years experience in cloud computing, engineering/ software development organizations, with a focus on privacy, information security, compliance or certification audits.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted auditing standards (IIA Standard/ COSO Framework) or other frameworks such as ISO27001.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CIA, CISA, CIPP/E, CISSP, etc.
Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
