Job Details

1) Program Management

  1. Strong Program Management skills . Should be able to manage the scope, timeline and budget while working with large number of stakeholders. Should be able to navigate stakeholders to drive the project outcome in an ambiguous environment.
  2. Tools : Should have worked on JIRA as it is used extensively to track programs , issues etc.,
  3. Communication Skills : Excellent communication skills as need to talk to a diverse group of stakeholders who are geographically distributed

2) Technical Excellence

  1. Should have good technical knowledge of the domain and technologies. I know it s difficult to know the details as a PM but should know what intelligent questions needs to be asked and to whom. The person should be able to represent the technical teams in calls and hence should be able understand the technical details of issue and risks arising out of it.
  2. Experience with Embedded Technologies would be a definite advantage but I don't think that would be a deal breaker. ( I had Zero experience on embedded tech prior to coming here).

3) Leadership

  1. Influence without authority. Should be able to drive teams towards the goal of the program. Must have led large programs involving geographically distributed teams in their previous experiences.
  2. Should be comfortable in presenting the status of the program to senior leadership. We are expected to provide status of program and answer questions arising from Stakeholders, both Business and Tech. So, a Senior person who knows on how to interact with Senior leadership is required.
