Interview type: In-person
Scope of the project: Migrate Oracle Spatial databased maintained through Geomedia to a SQL database maintained through ESRI Roads and Highways on-premise. This project will include the conversion of the database and a software upgrade.
DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Produce digital/hard copy maps in advanced GIS/Mapping applications
- Perform GIS data collection, maintenance and analysis
- Update database tables to reflect changes to the GIS features used in GIS analysis and in mapping as assigned by the supervisor.
- Perform quality control on the new and existing data to maintain correctness and spatial accuracy standards
- Assist in the development and maintenance of procedure manuals
- Completes software/procedures research/testing as assigned by the manager
- Performs related tasks as assigned by the manager.
Required Skills (rank in order of Importance):
- Knowledge and experience working with GIS/Mapping software and applications,
- Experience working with a spatial database, Microsoft Office, experience with cartography
- Experience with database design
Preferred Skills (rank in order of Importance):
- Knowledge and experience with ArcGIS Pro, experience with a SQL database
- Experience with ArcGIS roads and highways extension
Required Education: Bachelor's degree, Preferred field of study includes Geography, Computer Science, GIS, or Physical Science
