Role: Senior Business Analyst Consultant Workers Compensation Insurance

Location: Pleasanton, CA

Duration: 6+ months

Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Business Analyst Consultant with deep expertise in Workers Compensation Insurance, policy-driven initiatives, and enterprise-level business analysis. The ideal candidate will not only lead complex business analysis efforts but also play a key role in coaching, mentoring, and developing other Business Analysts, dedicating approximately 50% of their time to these leadership and development responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Analysis & Project Delivery (50%)

  • Lead end-to-end business analysis for enterprise-level, policy-driven projects within the Workers Compensation Insurance domain.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, technology teams, and product owners to define business needs, requirements, and solution designs.
  • Translate business objectives into actionable requirements and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, process flows, and functional specifications.
  • Support implementation, testing, and change management processes.

Coaching, Mentoring & Team Development (50%)

  • Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and mentorship to Business Analysts across the organization.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the BA community.
  • Conduct training sessions, workshops, and peer reviews to enhance BA skill sets and consistency in practices.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor for best practices, tools, and methodologies in business analysis.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with significant exposure to Workers Compensation Insurance or related insurance domains.
  • Proven track record in delivering enterprise-scale, policy-driven business and technology projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing Business Analysts.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in business analysis frameworks, requirements management tools, and process modelling.
  • Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and influence at multiple levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Agile or hybrid delivery environments.
  • Certification such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or similar.
  • Prior experience in a consulting or advisory capacity.
