Position: Controller

Position Location: Remote - New Jersey (with onsite requirements up to 2 times per month)

Scope/Level of Decision Making: This role is responsible for the day to day accounting operations of the company. This includes the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk. This role will work closely with the SVP Finance & Accounting , Operations, Sales and Delivery team

Primary Responsibilities:

The Controller is responsible for ensuring that correct processes are being followed and that a level of governance is consistent across all teams. In this role, you will work in Certinia/PSA and other connected tools, and be part of the planning team for updates and integrations. You will be responsible for the day-to-day finance team use of these tools, creating reports/dashboards with them and providing analysis reporting. * The person needs to be in NJ and willing to come to office twice a month. *

  • Lead the operations of the finance department which includes Core accounting, AP, AR, billings, collections, and payroll
  • Manage GAAP accounting
  • General accounting oversight
  • Creating internal policies and spend controls
  • Managing timely Audit and Tax filing
  • Managing cash flow and banking
  • Complete tasks beyond formal job responsibilities

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions
  • Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
  • Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions
  • Evaluate and implement automation of billing, accounts receivables and accounts payable, collections and payroll to bring process efficiency and cost savings
  • Scale accounting function for future growth
  • stablish efficient close calendar, close processes and cut off schedule to help accelerate the monthly close with detailed and transparent audit trails
  • Manage all the detailed schedules to support 13-week cash forecasting to optimize working capital
  • Review the restatement of previous years/Current years P&L and Balance sheet per US GAAP Standards
  • Integrate accounting of newly acquired businesses in the company systems
  • Maintain strong internal controls for all the transactions
  • Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
  • Experience implementing ASC 606
  • Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
  • Coordinating activities of external auditors, Tax Partner
  • Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
  • 10-15 Years of proven experience in various levels of accounting. Experience with SalesForce, FinancialForce and other ERP Systems (Netsuite, SAP, Oracle)
  • Experience in Software/Services industry is highly desirable
  • Experience in implementing ERP Systems/ Accounting automation, Integrating acquired businesses highly desirable
  • Audit and Tax filing experience
