Luna Data Solutions has an immediate long-term contract position opening (12 months+) for a Program Manager/AI & Automation resource with our public sector industry client located in Austin, TX. *This is a 100% onsite role (M-F, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST). All candidates must be local to the Austin, TX area.

Note: All candidates must be able to work on a W2 basis.
Role: Program Manager - AI/Automation
Role Description:
The client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Artificial Intelligence & Automation Program Manager to lead their AI & Automation Initiatives and inform executive strategy for this high-profile program area. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical knowledge, project management skills, strong communication abilities, and the ability to effectively introduce changes to business users. They will also possess a keen strategic understanding of the strategic application of this technology to meet business needs.
Key Activities/Responsibilities:

  • Program Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of AI and Automation projects.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with ITD teams and external partners to define and clarify project scope and requirements, focusing on the customer to ensure their understanding of the implementation and usage of solutions.
  • Program Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to enhance organizational efficiency with Automation and AI technologies while ensuring effective governance and risk evaluation.
  • System Implementation: Lead the deployment solutions and monitor delivery of the portfolio.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of ITD cross matrixed specialists (such as Applications, Infrastructure, Change Management, etc.), providing guidance and support to achieve project goals.
  • Timeline and Budget Management: Monitor project timeline and budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost control.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Technical: Understanding of AI/ML & Automation technologies, platforms and tools.
  • Reporting: Generate regular reports on project progress, highlighting key milestones and deliverables

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical program delivery.
  • Knowledge of AWS/Azure products including Copilot, Bedrock, Sagemaker, Foundry, and UiPath.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (e.g. PMP, Agile).
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
