Job Description
With offices located across North America, from Vancouver, B.C. to Houston, Texas, we are continuing to grow and are looking for all-star individuals to join our team.
We are currently seeking an experienced Project Controls Team Lead to manage a dynamic and supportive Project Controls Team to work with project managers, engineering and support disciplines lead on projects budget, cost tracking, schedule, progress and performance, reporting activities and change management.
Responsibilities:
- Actively lead and guide the Project Controls Team to:
- Assists Project Managers / Project Team on the development of the Project Work / Cost Breakdown Structure according to the project Scope of Work
- Coordinates the preparation of project baseline schedule and budget, and set up of the project cost control systems
- Performs schedule analysis (i.e., Schedule Integrity Assessment, etc.)
- Drives resource loading of schedules using a thorough understanding of resource leveling
- Implements progress / EVM techniques to prepare project Performance Reports in coordination with all involved parties
- Compiles and analyzes all relevant cost data and earned value through the link between schedule and cost, to monitor and control cost and progress performance
- Works with project discipline leads to understand impacts and document variance explanations/actions
- Prepare an overall project cost and progress status report as well as project cashflow forecasts
- Applies Earned Value Management concepts and Key Performance indicators to support and validate project cost forecast preparation
- Helps Project Team to identify potential changes which require to be addressed through the Change Management process
- Coordinates with project managers and project discipline leads to ensure potential scope or other project changes are captured through the Management of Change process. Includes basic understanding of in/out of scope
- Maintains project current budget updated with any revision due to approved changes from the baseline scope
- Conducts data integrity checks, ensuring the WBS/CBS structure is maintained, troubleshooting errors and following up with users to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Maintains Project Controls Procedures updated
- Coordinates and Supports standardization of report templates/formats
- Manages to understand client needs and works towards fulfilling clients requirements
- Manages project controls issues and suggests/implements solution as needed
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of ten (10) years of project controls work experience (including earned value management) in an Engineering, Procurement (EP), and/or Construction Management (EPCM) environment
- Proficient with MS Office with the ability to learn software programs quickly. Advanced level in MS Excel is required (i.e., charts, lookup and pivot tables, formulas, and filtering)
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong Leadership and Management skills
- Excellent communication and people skills with the ability to work effectively in a team
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and make decisions in accordance with established project controls standard guidelines and procedures
- Knowledge of Primavera P6 Professional Project Management is an asset
- Knowledge/Experience in Cost Risk Analysis (Quantitative risk analysis model) is an asset

The salary for this role is based on an average of 37.5 hours a week. The final offer commensurate with experience and qualifications.
