Job Description:
About the Role

As an Internal Corrosion Engineer Sr., you will serve as a subject matter expert in internal corrosion control. You'll lead efforts to monitor, diagnose, and mitigate corrosion across our pipeline systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and supporting operational excellence. This role requires strong technical expertise, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities

For Engineer Sr.:
  • Lead complex engineering projects with a focus on innovation and technical excellence.
  • Supervise or mentor junior engineers as needed.
  • Serve as the internal corrosion SME, supporting operations and technical services.
  • Develop and manage corrosion control programs, including monitoring, testing, and mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT 192/195, API, INGAA, NACE/AMPP, PRCI, and other standards.
  • Analyze corrosion data, generate reports, and collaborate with field teams to resolve issues.
  • Deliver technical presentations and training.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes, safety, and cost optimization.
  • Conduct audits to ensure regulatory and internal compliance.

For Technical Specialist Sr.:
  • Support pipeline operations and system integrity through technical evaluations and troubleshooting.
  • Lead tasks related to equipment maintenance, technical standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Interpret engineering documents and participate in project planning.
  • Manage internal corrosion databases and collaborate with field personnel.
  • Provide training and mentorship to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct audits and contribute to the development of internal guidelines and best practices.
Qualifications

Engineer Sr. - Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with PE license.
  • Minimum 8 years of engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry.

Engineer Sr. - Preferred:
  • PE certification.
  • 7+ years of progressive engineering experience.
Additional Requirements
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with a safety-first mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general PC skills.
  • Deep knowledge of internal corrosion mechanisms, testing, and mitigation strategies.
  • Familiarity with specialty chemicals for wet gas, hazardous liquids, and processing operations.
  • Working knowledge of 49 CFR 192 and 195.
  • Strong technical writing skills for developing risk-based recommendations and management plans.
  • Experience with database and GIS tools.
  • Business intelligence skills (e.g., Power BI, Pi Vision) for data analysis and reporting.
Preferred Certifications & Experience
  • NACE/AMPP Senior Internal Corrosion Technologist certification.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with specialty chemical vendors or labs.
  • 10+ years of hands-on corrosion control experience for a pipeline operator.
