Job Details

This position is a hands-on role and involves developing and maintaining machine control systems, primarily in high-speed sorters, with potential involvement in Packaging, Palletizing (e.g., robotics, palletizers), and Material handling Systems.
The engineer will lead the development, enhancement, and support of core technologies, ensuring their effective implementation, and providing training and documentation.
Strong machine control experience is essential. The role may involve project development, implementation, and commissioning. Proficiency with Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms is required, with additional experience in other PLCs or programming environments a plus. The engineer will collaborate closely with global teams across R&D, engineering, project management, sales, and customer service.
Responsibilities:
Understand customer requirements and translate them into programmatic designs.
Interpret electrical design drawings and specifications relevant to machine control programming.
Train colleagues in the application of core technologies within their area of expertise.
Support project-specific technology implementations.
Collaborate with electrical engineering teams to define I/O networks, addressing schemes, and equipment selections.
Work with PC software developers to establish efficient interfaces and define task responsibilities.
Align technological developments with COMPANY Group standards, particularly those set by the Center of Competence (CoC).
Participate in in-house testing of machine control systems across COMPANY offices.
Engage in project engineering, on-site commissioning, and troubleshooting.
Prepare and test PLC hardware for various projects.
Provide second-tier and third-tier software support.
Assist in the development of PLC and HMI systems for both the Packaging and Palletizing and Airport divisions.
Undertake special projects or other responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Requirements/Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Controls Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.
Advanced machine control concepts.
Complex mathematical techniques relevant to controls engineering.
Programming proficiency in Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs.
SCADA system development, particularly with Ignition by Inductive Automation, including design, implementation, and maintenance.
Skills and Abilities:
Independently evaluate and resolve complex controls engineering challenges.
Develop and integrate SCADA systems, particularly utilizing the Ignition platform.
