Responsibilities:
- Assess the current state of technical documentation throughout the Hardware IP organization, identifying strengths, gaps, and improvement areas.
- Consult with cross-functional (XFN) teams to understand their documentation stXXgies, requirements, and challenges.
- Work closely with engineering leadership and technical staff to gather input and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Develop a comprehensive documentation management strategy, addressing.
- Version control and revision tracking.
- Update communication processes.
- Permissions management.
- Standardization of formats and templates for consistency and usability.
- Gather and integXX feedback from stakeholders on the proposed strategy, iterating as needed.
- Initiate and help implement the infrastructure required to support the new documentation management approach, including tool selection and process definition.
- Create clear, engaging training materials (slides, courses, guides) to facilitate adoption of the new strategy by engineering and support teams.
- Produce or update additional technical documentation as required, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Serve as a point of contact for documentation best practices and provide guidance to teams during the transition.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in technical publications or engineering documentation, preferably within manufacturing or engineering environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in documentation tools and technologies (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, publishing software, CAD tools, XML/SGML editors).
- Deep knowledge of documentation management systems and best practices, particularly for large engineering organizations.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Understanding of regulatory standards and compliance requirements related to technical documentation.
- Proven ability to work independently, engage stakeholders, and drive projects to completion.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Writing.
- Positive references from previous employers or clients.
- Experience leading documentation strategy or change management initiatives.
- Familiarity with permission management systems (e.g., techprotect) and secure document handling.
- Experience developing and delivering training to technical teams.
- Knowledge of industry standards for documentation (e.g., ISO, ITIL, ATA, or similar frameworks).
