Job Details

Join a leading global automotive company as a highly skilled CAE Engineer specializing in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, passionate about leveraging CFD to enhance vehicle dynamics, thermal management, and fluid dynamics at the full vehicle level. This role sits within the Methods group and offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to various projects while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive CFD analyses focusing on vehicle aerodynamics, thermal management, in-cabin modeling, water management, and intrusion at the full vehicle level.
  • Utilize STAR-CCM+ for detailed simulation and analysis while demonstrating the ability to learn and adapt to new software and environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate CFD insights into broader engineering projects, enhancing vehicle performance and efficiency.
  • Independently manage assigned tasks, driving projects to completion while meeting high-level objectives and deadlines.
  • Innovate in the application of CFD knowledge to identify, analyze, and solve complex fluid dynamics problems efficiently, contributing to the advancement of our vehicle designs.
  • Stay ahead of the latest developments in CFD and automotive engineering, continuously seeking opportunities to apply new techniques and methodologies to current projects.

Required Skillset:

  • Minimum of 6+ years of relevant industry experience as a CFD analyst, preferably with projects at the full vehicle level.
  • Strong foundation in CFD fundamentals, with the ability to quickly learn and master new areas within the field.
  • Proven track record in vehicle aerodynamics, thermal management, and fluid dynamics analysis.
  • Expertise in StarCCM+ is required.
  • Experience with OpenFOAM, Fluent, and other relevant CFD software is desired.
  • Demonstrated capability to initiate and carry out tasks independently, effectively managing projects and solving problems with minimal oversight.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering.

Bonus Skillset:

  • Experience with preprocessor Ansa is beneficial.
  • Previous experience in an R&D environment.
