The Enterprise Data Management (EDM) organization is responsible for Neuberger Berman's VantageIQ data platform, the foundation of the firm's data product and analytics strategy.

We are seeking a senior data engineer to drive the design and development of reusable, scalable data products that empower business stakeholders across the asset management domain to support advanced analytics and AI initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to translate complex data requirements into robust technical solutions, leveraging modern data engineering practices and cloud-based technologies.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, identify data challenges, and translate them into effective data product solutions.
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable data products in Snowflake, using dbt for data modeling, transformation, and automation.
  • Ensure data products are modular, standardized, and easily repurposed across different business domains and analytic initiatives.
  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable, reliable data products and pipelines for AI, advanced analytics, and business intelligence use cases.
  • Architect and enhance data models and systems (both relational and dimensional) to optimize analytics, reporting, and self-service BI capabilities.
  • Implement and optimize data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using modern data stack technologies (e.g., dbt, Python, Dremio).
  • Integrate the firm's internal Generative AI platform with Business Intelligence assets, identifying innovative opportunities for automation and insight generation.
  • Support and drive Business Intelligence Center of Enablement initiatives, promoting best practices, standardization, and data governance.
  • Lead change management efforts and develop CI/CD pipelines for business intelligence assets, ensuring robust deployment, monitoring, and version control.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Data Governance, Data Science, Architecture, Cloud Engineering) to deliver high-impact data solutions.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 7-10 years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or analytics development roles.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize work in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership, work independently and as part of a team, and continuously learn new technologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with Snowflake, including designing and developing data models for scalable BI solutions with user entitlements.
  • Strong programming skills in Python; experience with dbt, Dremio, and GitHub Copilot highly desirable.
  • Experience building and maintaining semantic data layers, data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and integrating cloud data platforms.
  • Familiarity with data fabric architectures and centralized data access automation is a plus.
  • Experience with BI and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is preferred.
  • Proficiency with enterprise technology tools such as Azure DevOps, Azure Git, and Airflow.
