Job Title: Senior Software Engineer (.NET, Full Stack)
Location: Charlotte, NC (Preferred); Des Moines, IA; Chandler, AZ

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Enterprise Functions Technology team, aligned with the Employee Self Service (ESS) Group, supporting integrations. In this contingent role, you will contribute to the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions, with a focus on backend services and full-stack development.

You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve moderately complex engineering challenges, leveraging your expertise in .NET technologies, microservices, and modern development practices.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using .NET Core 8 and .NET Framework.
  • Build and support microservices and RESTful APIs.
  • Integrate with Kafka for event-driven architecture and Apigee for API management.
  • Optimize SQL Server queries and ensure database performance.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical planning, and solution design.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet engineering deliverables and compliance standards.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in software engineering or equivalent (e.g., consulting, military, education).
  • Proficiency in:
    • .NET Core 8, C#, ASP.NET Core Web API, Entity Framework Core
    • .NET Framework (4.x), ASP.NET MVC/Web Forms, WCF
    • SQL Server, T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing
    • Kafka (producers/consumers, schema registry)
    • Apigee (API proxy creation, security policies)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OAuth2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
  • Exposure to AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot
  • Understanding of how to leverage AI language models for prototyping, automation, or documentation
