Systems Functional Safety Engineer

Work location : Peachtree City, GA or Farmington Hills, MI or Virtual

  • Define and manage functional safety requirements for various Automotive Electronics Systems ( Infotainment, Cluster, Cockpit Domain Controllers) according to ISO 26262 standards and best practices, which satisfy product and performance requirements, and achieve system safety targets.
  • Develop and peer review quantitative and qualitative functional safety analyses including HARA's, FTAs, FMEAs.
  • Develop functional safety and technical safety concepts (e.g. Infotainment, Cluster, Cockpit Domain Controllers, etc.).
  • Collaborate with internal hardware/software engineers and/or 3rd party suppliers to ensure system requirements and desired functionality is achieved. Work with internal and external stakeholders to refine and/or negotiate on requirements to achieve a viable solution.
  • Assist other teams with the implementation of systems engineering processes, which can also include cross-functional reviews of requirements and safety analyses
  • Support the definition of safety requirements and inform architecture and design.
  • Experience in Doors, Medini tools Rhapsody
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive functional safety ISO 26262
  • Experience in automotive serial communication protocols such as CAN & LIN
  • Experience in different microcontrollers and peripherals such as SPI, GPIO, PWM, etc.
