Role: Linux Engineer

Location: Onsite - Austin, TX (LOCALS ONLY)

Experience: 10+ Years

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will bring 10 years of experience, with strong proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, CAPL) and Linux administration (Amazon Linux, RHEL, SLES, OEL). This role requires a proactive leader who can manage geospatial projects effectively, aligning them with business goals and contributing to positive societal impact.

Required Skills:

Linux Administration: RHEL, SLES, OEL, Amazon Linux

Certifications Required:

Certified Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP)

Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development and execution of geospatial projects aligned with organizational goals.

Integrate geospatial data into existing systems to support data-driven decision-making.

Automate geospatial processes using scripting languages (Python, Bash, CAPL).

Administer Linux environments (RHEL, SLES, OEL, Amazon Linux) to ensure system reliability.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address geospatial data needs.

Ensure data accuracy and quality through rigorous validation processes.

Maintain documentation for geospatial systems and workflows.

Stay current with industry trends and emerging geospatial technologies.

Mentor and train team members in geospatial tools and methodologies.

Gather stakeholder requirements and deliver tailored geospatial solutions.

Evaluate and recommend tools to enhance geospatial data management.

Ensure compliance with data privacy and security standards.

Leverage geospatial insights to support the company s mission and societal impact.

Qualifications:

Proficiency in Python, Bash, and CAPL scripting.

Strong Linux administration skills across multiple distributions.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Proven experience managing and delivering geospatial projects.

High attention to detail and commitment to data quality.

Ability to thrive in a collaborative, hybrid work environment.
