Inventory Manager
Job Details
Major media company in Washington, DC is looking for an onsite Logistics Coordinator for a contract-to-hire role.
Responsibilities:
- Inventory Tracking & Management: Maintain accurate records of all inventory items, including broadcast equipment, production materials, and office supplies. Ensure that all inventory is stored, organized, and easily accessible.
- Stock Monitoring & Ordering: Regularly monitor stock levels and proactively place orders for replacement items when inventory levels are low. Establish relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable pricing and delivery terms.
- Asset Organization & Accessibility: Oversee the systematic organization of inventory in both physical and digital formats, ensuring easy retrieval and compliance with company policies.
- Inventory Audits & Reporting: Conduct regular audits and reconcile physical inventory against system records. Provide detailed inventory reports, including usage trends, discrepancies, and cost analysis.
- Collaboration with Production Teams: Work closely with production and technical teams to understand their needs and ensure timely availability of equipment and materials for broadcasts, studio setups, and other productions.
- Budgeting & Cost Control: Assist in managing inventory budgets and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising operational needs.
- Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers. Ensure that all inventory is purchased in compliance with Versant procurement policies.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve inventory management processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in inventory management or supply chain logistics, preferably in a media or broadcast environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory control processes, logistics, and best practices.
- Proficient with inventory management software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and find practical solutions to inventory challenges.
- Knowledge of broadcast equipment, production materials, and industry-specific inventory management practices is a plus.
