Overview
Join a dynamic team contributing to every stage of attraction development, from conceptual design to sustainment. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will develop detailed engineering models used for simulation and analysis across various global engineering and entertainment projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain physics-based system-level and functional simulations using various software languages and environments.
- Create applications and drivers that interface with control system hardware.
- Support analysis and review processes for new engineering software tools.
- Present optimized design options for attractions based on simulation data.
- Participate in design reviews of attraction modifications driven by simulation results.
- Ensure designs follow regulatory codes and engineering standards.
- Collaborate with Imagineering Creative, Ride, and Industrial Engineering teams to develop accurate attraction simulations.
- Assist in writing proposals, including scope, validation plans, and procedures.
- Verify ride or attraction performance against simulation predictions.
- Support global engineering teams in applying dynamic analysis techniques.
- Influence tool and software platform decisions for engineering analyses.
- Develop and apply supporting software tools.
Required Skills
- Five (5) or more years of experience in entertainment or general engineering roles.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages, preferably C++ and/or C#.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and languages.
- Proven leadership in technical project teams, including mentoring and project management.
- Experience with engineering software and development environments (e.g., Visual Studio).
- Knowledge of PLC hardware, programming, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with dynamic systems and statistical modeling.
- Proficiency in Agile practices, including Scrum and sprint planning.
- Familiarity with source control tools such as GitLab or GitHub.
- Strong background in physics and mathematics, including differential equations and physical modeling.
Preferred Skills
- Experience within the entertainment industry, ride and show control systems, or PLC troubleshooting.
- Understanding of Systems Engineering concepts and tools (SysML, IDEF0).
- Familiarity with third-party analysis software such as MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, Simscape Multibody, MathCad, SolidWorks, or ANSYS.
- Development experience using game engines like Unity3D or Unreal.
- Extensive coursework or proven experience in systems engineering and software design.
- Postgraduate engineering degree.
