Supplier Quality Engineer #2523
Position Summary:
The Supplier Quality Engineer plays a key role in supporting a fast-moving, high-volume manufacturing environment where supplier performance is essential to product consistency and delivery. This individual works closely with engineering, purchasing, and production teams to ensure materials meet specifications, suppliers are prepared to scale, and quality standards are upheld across the supply base. The engineer analyzes data such as Cp/Cpk to identify trends and address potential issues, while also contributing to the development and maintenance of the company s quality management systems. The work is hands-on, technical, and focused on long-term process improvement, as well as providing both tactical support and strategic development across the supply chain.
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related engineering field.
- 5+ years of experience in supplier quality engineering in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience auditing and developing suppliers.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Exposure to Six Sigma, Lean, and Kaizen principles.
- Comfortable working with engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP tools.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Audit and assess supplier capabilities to meet technical and production standards.
- Partner with engineering and purchasing to align supplier development with NPD goals.
- Manage PPAP for both new product launches and changes to existing products.
- Conduct Cp/Cpk and other statistical analyses to ensure process reliability.
- Lead and track supplier corrective actions (SCARs) through resolution and validation.
- Support suppliers in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
- Coordinate and lead quarterly calls with key supplier quality contacts.
- Create and maintain clear supplier scorecards and reports.
- Recommend equipment or process improvements to help suppliers scale and comply.
- Maintain all SOPs, forms, and checklists related to supplier quality.
- Ensure supplier audits align with fabricator certification requirements.
- Build and maintain dashboards to communicate ongoing quality metrics and progress.
- Collaborate with internal quality inspectors and engineers to align inspection standards.
- Develop annual audit schedules based on risk and supplier criticality.
- Maintain and enhance company s QMS software tools and documentation.
