Job Title: L2 Support Engineer Unix, PL/SQL

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced L2 Application Support Engineer to join our team in Pittsburgh. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in PL/SQL, Unix, Shell Scripting, and experience in the banking and payments domain. Familiarity with monitoring tools like AppDynamics is essential. This role involves incident management, issue resolution, root cause analysis, and close interaction with development, infrastructure, and business teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Level 2 application support for business-critical banking/payment systems.
- Monitor applications and infrastructure using AppDynamics, resolve alerts, and ensure minimal downtime.
- Perform root cause analysis of recurring issues and work with L3/development teams for resolution.
- Handle incident management, service requests, and change management activities as per ITIL processes.
- Write and debug shell scripts for automation and monitoring purposes.
- Perform database analysis and write complex queries in PL/SQL for troubleshooting and support.
- Coordinate with upstream/downstream systems to ensure smooth data flow and integrations.
- Participate in on-call support rotation and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in application support roles, with a focus on PL/SQL and Unix
- Strong experience in PL/SQL and writing complex database queries.
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux environment with hands-on experience in Shell Scripting.
- Working knowledge of AppDynamics or similar monitoring tools.
- Prior experience supporting banking or payment applications is mandatory.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident, problem, change management).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with job schedulers (e.g., Control-M, Autosys).
- Knowledge of scripting in Python or other automation tools.
- Familiarity with log management tools like Splunk.
- Exposure to cloud environments is a plus.
