Location & Work Arrangement

  • City, State: Des Moines, Iowa
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid
  • Contract: This is a Contract position.
  • Onsite Requirement: REQUIRED to be onsite every Wednesday. Submit only local/regional resources who can reliably meet this weekly commitment.
  • Note: The selected candidate will undergo an additional background check investigation, including completion of waiver forms and a fingerprint process, run by the Client.

Key Responsibilities and Focus Areas

IT Vendor Relationship and Performance Management

  • Relationship Development: Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key IT vendors and service providers.
  • Performance Oversight: Facilitate regular vendor performance and business reviews. Monitor compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), initiating corrective actions for underperformance.
  • Escalation Point: Serve as the primary escalation point for vendor-related issues and disputes.

Contract Oversight, Financial & Risk Management

  • Agreement Management: Oversee the negotiation, execution, and renewal of IT Statements of Work (SOWs), ensuring alignment with legal, financial, and operational standards.
  • Financial Stewardship: Track vendor spend, benchmark pricing and service levels against industry standards, and ensure alignment with IT budgets and forecasts.
  • Risk & Compliance: Identify and manage vendor-related risks, including cybersecurity, data privacy, and operational continuity. Support internal audits and compliance initiatives.
  • Procurement Knowledge: Apply strong knowledge of IT procurement standards and align the strategic vendor portfolio with the agency's IT roadmap.

Issue Management and Communication

  • Change Control: Log and track vendor-related issues, escalations, and change requests. Document change control approvals for IT services or infrastructure.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Schedule and document vendor meetings, demos, and onboarding sessions. Communicate vendor updates, risks, and contract changes clearly to all stakeholders.
