Job Details

Job Title: Electrical Commissioning Specialist
Location: Fairfield, Texas

Type: Contract
Compensation: $60 hourly (+/-, per diem and mob/demob
Contractor Work Model: Onsite
Duration: Start ASAP (8 months)

System One is recruiting for a Electrical Commissioning Specialist for Simple Cycle project in Fairfield, TX.

Electrical Commissioning Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Attend Factory Acceptance Test for Electrical Equipment (MV, LV Switchgears, Transformers, Relay Panels, etc)
  • Develop Electrical Initial Energization Procedures (Switchyard, Back-feed, Switchgears, Initial Synch, etc)
  • Initial energization, generator sync and 3 rd party testing
  • Familiarity with component testing and commissioning aspects of following major electrical equipment & protection scheme will be an added advantage
  • 220KV, 345KV Breakers
  • Generator Circuit Breakers
  • MV & LV Switchgears and MCCs
  • CTs, PTs, CVTs and three-line diagrams
  • Line Protection Scheme (Transformer & Motor Protection, Breaker Failure, and Bus Differential Scheme)
  • Synchronization
  • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting, functional checkout of control & relaying scheme, DCS/RTU Loop checking

    Electrical Commissioning Roles & Requirements:
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of related experience in the areas of power plants
  • Experience with GE gas turbine is preferred
  • Familiar with SCADA, RTU, DCS loop checkout testing and troubleshooting
  • Demonstrate thorough proficiency regarding protective relays, electrical control and protection scheme
  • NETA, IEEE Testing standards
  • Must be able familiar with NFPA 70E and able to demonstrate safe electrical troubleshooting skills
