Requirements


ESSENTIAL FUNCTION



  • Develop and refine intricate mechanical design concepts, layouts, and detailed drawings, harmonizing precision with functionality to the highest degree

  • Skillfully evaluate and adjudicate vendor deviation requests, drawing upon your exceptional technical acumen to guide informed decisions

  • Meticulously execute and present comprehensive gated design reviews, engaging with internal teams and customers at pivotal junctures within the component's design lifecycle

  • Expertly compose and author detailed technical documents and assembly instructions, ensuring effective communication of intricate engineering details

  • Undertake rigorous root-cause analyses to discern underlying factors contributing to issues encountered in both product development and existing products

  • Collaborate seamlessly with diverse support groups, including drafting, repair and maintenance, testing, procurement, sales, and marketing, ensuring the holistic fulfillment of projects as required

  • Demonstrate versatile expertise by assuming a leadership role or seamlessly integrating within a dynamic team of engineering professionals, skillfully shepherding designs from prototyping through to full-scale production

  • Uphold a work environment that rigorously adheres to the most stringent safety and cleanliness standards, consistently following established protocols and regulatory requirements

  • Maintain a comprehensive grasp of ASTM standards, ensuring their seamless integration throughout all relevant facets of the engineering process



EXPERIENCE REQUIRED



  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, ABET-accredited program

  • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience required (downhole drilling experience preferred)

  • Experience is required in designing and development of downhole tools from initial layout and solid modeling to prototype production and field tests

  • Advanced working knowledge of mechanical design & analysis software applicable to downhole tools (AutoCAD, ANSYS, SolidWorks,PDM)

  • Working knowledge of metallurgy, material properties heat treating, and failure analysis principles

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and timelines in a demanding environment

  • Ability to consult professionally with team members and system users

  • Ability to perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to maintain a flexible working schedule to meet customer needs
