Job Title: Senior Data Architect
Remote

$70-75/hr on C2C

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise data solutions that enable advanced analytics and AI-driven innovation. This role will focus on building scalable, secure, and high-performing data architectures leveraging Snowflake, AWS cloud services, and modern strategies for making data AI-ready. The ideal candidate will also have strong domain expertise in the Healthcare payer business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Architecture & Strategy
    • Define and maintain enterprise data architecture standards, frameworks, and best practices.
    • Design and implement data models for transactional, analytical, and AI-driven systems.
    • Develop strategies for data integration, governance, and security across multiple platforms.
  • Cloud & Platform Expertise
    • Architect and optimize data solutions on AWS leveraging services such as S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, and EMR.
    • Implement and manage Snowflake for data warehousing, ensuring performance, scalability, and cost optimization.
  • AI/ML Data Enablement
    • Design data pipelines and architectures to make data available for AI/ML workloads, including feature stores, training datasets, and inference-ready data layers.
    • Implement data quality, lineage, and metadata management to ensure trusted and compliant AI datasets.
    • Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to ensure data readiness for model training and deployment.
    • Establish data versioning and reproducibility practices for AI experiments.
  • Healthcare Domain Focus
    • Build data solutions that support healthcare payer operations, including claims processing, enrollment, provider networks, and regulatory compliance.
    • Ensure adherence to HIPAA and other healthcare data privacy and security standards.
  • Collaboration & Leadership
    • Partner with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
    • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior architects and engineers.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Experience:
    • 8+ years in data architecture or related roles.
    • Proven experience with Snowflake (data modeling, performance tuning, security).
    • Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services for data engineering and analytics.
    • Deep understanding of Healthcare payer business processes and regulatory requirements.
    • Demonstrated experience in making data available for AI/ML, including feature engineering, data pipelines, and integration with ML platforms.
  • Skills:
    • Expertise in SQL, data modeling, and ETL/ELT design.
    • Familiarity with modern data integration tools and frameworks.
    • Strong knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data Lakehouse architectures and real-time streaming (Kafka, Kinesis).
  • Knowledge of BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) and advanced analytics platforms.
  • Certification in AWS and/or Snowflake.
  • Exposure to ML Ops and AI lifecycle management tools.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
