We are Legal Engineering, a global team who work on a variety of systems supporting the Legal Division with lawyers embedded in all areas of the business.

We:

build and operate a suite of platforms and applications that support legal and regulatory operations across the firm.

partner with the global engineering function to access the latest technology and platforms.

leverage modern frameworks to build responsive and intuitive front-end applications.

partner with vendors to implement and enhance vendor solutions where appropriate.

The firm is focused on investing into several key areas within Legal which involve uplift and automation of Legal Invoice & Matter Management tools, Reporting and AI integration.

To achieve this Legal Engineering is looking to fill a full stack developer role.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

As a member of our team, you will:

Lead a team of software engineers in developing, testing, and deploying software applications

Manage the full software development life cycle, including project planning, execution, and delivery

Partner globally with sponsors, users and engineering colleagues across multiple divisions to create end-to-end solutions,

Set and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation

Recruit, train, and mentor software engineering team members

Ensure that software engineering team members follow best practices, including Agile methodologies, code reviews, and automated testing

Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends

Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive change management initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

A successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar field of study.

8+ years in Java development, automated testing and SDLC concepts, with at least 3 years in a managerial role

Knowledge of relational databases

Strong leadership and people management skills

The ability (and tenacity) to clearly express ideas and arguments in meetings and on paper.

Experience in some of the following is desired and can set you apart from other candidates:

UI/UX development

API design, such as to create interconnected services

Knowledge of the financial industry and legal or risk functions

Influencing stakeholder
