Role Overview

Seeking an experienced AS400 / RentalMan Developer & Production Support Engineer with strong expertise in RPG technologies, DB2/DB400, and ILE concepts. The ideal candidate will support production, develop enhancements, participate in Agile delivery, and work directly with customers on issue resolution and requirement clarification. Retail domain experience (4+ years) is mandatory.

Must-Have Skills

  • 8 10+ years of experience in AS400 / IBM i ecosystem

  • Strong hands-on expertise with:

    • RentalMan

    • RPG, RPGLE

    • CL, CLLE

    • SQLRPGLE

    • DB2 / DB400

    • ILE concepts & integration

  • Strong experience in:

    • Analysis

    • Design

    • Coding

    • Unit Testing

    • Implementation

  • Minimum 5 years AS400 production support experience

  • Experience dealing with customers and business teams

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Agile methodology experience

  • Minimum 4 years of Retail domain experience

Role Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation for RentalMan enhancements and integrations

  • Provide hands-on AS400 production support, including incident resolution, debugging, and performance tuning

  • Develop and maintain programs using RPG, RPGLE, SQLRPGLE, CL, CLLE, and ILE concepts

  • Work directly with customer teams to gather requirements and provide technical solutions

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and follow Agile delivery best practices

  • Support integration with external systems and downstream applications

  • Create and maintain technical documentation

  • Ensure stability, reliability, and efficiency of RentalMan and AS400-based applications
