Job Details

Premiere trading organization is looking to bring on a Senior Backend Engineer. They are based in Chicago's Loop and require 4 days in office. They are a fast-growing proprietary trading firm known for building ultra-low-latency systems and high-performance trading infrastructure. You'll work with cutting-edge C#, C++, microservices, low-latency systems, and high-throughput distributed services powering real-time trading execution.

This role puts you directly at the core of the firm's trading technology-your engineering decisions influence P/L in real time. The team is highly collaborative and engineering-driven, giving you autonomy to own systems end-to-end while gaining exposure to trading systems, quantitative engineering, and high-speed market data processing. Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of backend engineering experience in C# and/or C++
Experience developing trading infrastructure (e.g., trading engine, FIX engine, order management systems)
Strong understanding of low-latency systems and real-time data flows
Experience with SQL databases and high-performance data access
Familiarity with REST APIs, microservices, and distributed system design
Strong understanding of market data processing or order routing pipelines
Experience with authentication, middleware, and high-throughput messaging systems

Desired Skills & Experience

Experience with P/L calculations, margin engines, or position reconciliation
Knowledge of WebSockets and streaming interfaces
Experience with colocation, tick-to-trade optimization, or hardware acceleration
Exposure to risk systems or post-trade workflows
Familiarity with cloud-adjacent hybrid deployments
