V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Platform Engineer - Linux/Unix Expert III (Remote) for our premier client.

Education and Experience »
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in system administration and application server management.
  • Proven experience in platform migration projects, especially AIX to Linux and WAS to JWS.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise middleware and Java-based applications.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Job Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement the transition from WebSphere Application Server to JBoss Web Server.
  • Lead the technical execution of migrating applications from AIX to Linux environments.
  • Analyze existing application configurations, dependencies, and performance characteristics.
  • Translate and refactor configuration files, scripts, and deployment artifacts.
  • Conduct performance tuning, regression testing, and validation post-migration.
  • Document migration procedures, runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials.
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure seamless migration.
  • Ensure compliance with security, audit, and operational standards.
