Job Title: Control Engineer
Location: Birmingham, AL
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Familiar with DC Motor controls
- Familiar with metal strip processing (this system is Aluminum)
- Coordinated Drives Knowledge
- Allen-Bradley/Rockwell ControlLogix
- Siemens 6RA80 Drives (over Ethernet/IP from ControlLogix)
- Typical operation of the drives is in speed mode with a torque limit.
- The drive speed is set above or below the line speed master so that the speed regulator is always saturated and the drive is operating in a torque control mode. We are still working on defining the torque zones.
- This system is a tension leveler with a mechanical leveler (no motor)
- Entry and Exit bridals are used to control the material stretch
- 5+ years experience programming PLC, HMI, VFD s and network equipment
- 5+ years experience designing and specifying electrical distribution equipment, MCC s, and VFD for Industrial Facilities
- 5+ years experience with PLC Panel, HMI Hardware, Networking and HMI Software design
- Ability to lead a team in designing, writing, and testing software; lead a team designing electrical equipment, facilities, components, and products
- Excellent people-skills, including the ability to interface with customers as well as co-workers
