About the Role

We are seeking a Cyber Security Design Engineer to join our growing Cybersecurity and Functional Safety team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating security solutions for next-generation automotive platforms including ECUs, connected vehicle systems, ADAS/Autonomous technologies, Infotainment, Telematics, and EV/Battery systems. You will work cross-functionally with product engineering, software, hardware, and compliance teams to ensure vehicle and component cybersecurity throughout the product lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cybersecurity design activities across vehicle platforms and electronic control units (ECUs) in compliance with ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE R155/R156, and corporate cybersecurity processes.

  • Conduct Threat Analysis & Risk Assessments (TARA), vulnerability assessments, attack surface evaluations, and cybersecurity impact analysis.

  • Develop cybersecurity system architecture, design specifications, HSM/PKI security concepts, access control, encryption, and secure boot mechanisms.

  • Collaborate with system architects, software engineers, and suppliers to integrate cybersecurity solutions aligned to AUTOSAR and embedded system standards.

  • Support development of secure OTA (Over-The-Air) update frameworks, secure diagnostics (UDS), secure communications (TLS, IPsec, CAN/CAN-FD security).

  • Define security requirements, write technical specifications, and review supplier design documentation for compliance.

  • Support penetration testing, fuzzing, static/dynamic code analysis, and validation of cybersecurity controls.

  • Drive cybersecurity deliverables through V-model development, ASPICE, and product development lifecycle.

  • Partner with compliance and legal teams on organizational cybersecurity posture, policies, and homologation requirements.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or related field.

  • 3 8+ years of experience in embedded security, automotive cybersecurity, or system security engineering.

  • Hands-on experience with:

    • ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE R155/R156, AUTOSAR Security

    • Cryptography, Key Management, Secure Boot, Secure Flash, Secure Diagnostics

    • CAN, CAN-FD, Ethernet, UDS, DoIP, TLS/IPSec, PKI

    • Threat modeling (TARA), cybersecurity concept development & secure architecture design

  • Strong knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and automotive software stacks.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with tools such as Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, Security Architect tools, TARA tools, Wireshark, IDA/Hex-Rays, Kali Linux, C/C++/Python.

  • Understanding of ADAS, Autonomous Driving, EV/Powertrain systems, and Telematics security.

  • Familiarity with Pen Testing, Fuzz Testing, Secure Coding, MISRA, ASPICE, ISO 26262.

  • Automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier experience.
