Immediate need for a talented OpenShift Engineer. This is a 12 months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Basking Ridge, NJ(Onsite). Please review the job description below and contact me ASAP if you are interested.

Pay Range: $65 - $66/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and support MEC solutions: Integrate products in public/private edge computing environments.
  • Automate deployments: Script and enhance MEC/OpenShift tooling for lab setups, monitoring, and updates.
  • Physical and logical responsibilities: Candidate must handle server rack installation and cabling, plus advanced OpenShift and Linux administration.
  • Documentation and Ops: Maintain configs and infrastructure records in IPAM (like NetBox), thoroughly document projects and scripts in on-prem git.
  • Hardware and Software install, config, troubleshooting in lab.
  • Application deployments in DevCenter and operational lab environments.
  • Resource/network/storage optimization across lab environment.
  • Equipment installation, rack and stack, power management.
  • Maintain lab documentation and configuration scripts.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

  • Key Skills: Openshift , Kubernetes Linux
  • OpenShift (Red Hat s Kubernetes flavor)
  • Linux server/networking administration
  • Cloud platforms and virtualization (OpenStack, Docker, KVM/Proxmox/XCP-NG)
  • Networking hardware, routers/switches configuration and troubleshooting
  • Application administration experience
  • Hands-on server rack and cabling ( layer-1 work)
  • Data analytics/AI background is an added plus
  • 2 4 years minimum (CKA preferred, CCNA equivalent or above; more years accepted if mindset is flexible and not rigid)
  • Certifications: CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator), CCNA or similar welcomed
  • Mindset: Self-starter, adaptable, creative mad scientist or home-lab enthusiast both hardware and software savvy
  • Not seeking rigid, fixed in their ways seniors nor juniors lacking depth in layer-1/hardware OR OpenShift/Kubernetes.
