Job Description:
Requirement/Must Have:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Proficient at terminating all connector types and methods for SMF and MMF systems (Unicam, anaerobic, heat-cure).
- Experience with testing and troubleshooting MMF & SMF systems (OTDR & PMLS).
- Ability to use standard trade tools including screwdrivers, snips, pliers, punch tool, tone set, crimp tools, and others.
- Due to the nature of the job, the candidate should be able to lift 75 pounds with assistance.
- 3 5 years of experience in Fiber (preferred).
- Mechanical and fusion splice experience (preferred).
- Data center installation experience (preferred).
- OSP / Confined Space Entry experience (preferred).
- Industry certifications (preferred: Corning, FOA, BICSI).
- Mount and install racks, patch panels, and fiber optic hardware.
- Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cables.
- Perform continuity testing and troubleshoot using tone sets and volt-ohmmeters.
- Install LC, SC, ST, FC, FDDI, SMA, MPO/MTP connectors for multimode and single-mode fiber.
- Terminate simplex and duplex jumper cords.
- Terminate and breakout outside plant fiber.
- Terminate indoor tight buffered multimode and single-mode fiber.
- Install fan-out kits including buffer tubes.
- Calculate end-to-end loss budgets as per TIA/EIA standards.
- Test fiber using OTDR, Fluke, and EFXO.
- Troubleshoot fiber networks using OTDR for end-to-end and network-wide issues.
- Perform mechanical and fusion splicing of fiber cables.
- Perform building entrance, maintenance space, and direct buried splices.
- Accurately complete all required paperwork including timesheets, work orders, and change orders.
- Provide on-site support after business hours as needed per on-call schedule.
- Travel to various job sites as required.

- Fiber optic installation, termination, and splicing.
- Fiber network testing and troubleshooting.

- Relevant industry certifications (preferred).
